I want all students to succeed. Throughout the book, I invite teachers to be creative in reassessing traditional practices in light of today’s media-driven culture and digitally wired students.

I advocate for them to not succumb to top-down mandates from state, federal, and local officials, but to take initiative and make pedagogical changes on their own. Teachers are best positioned to know their students' needs. Closing their doors, engaging face to face, they can do just that. 

Schools must do better. Rather than focus on improving test scores, teachers must teach to a child’s whole symphony, to all aspects of their development, not only to the one note, that of taking standardized tests. If students only learn to succeed on bubble tests, they will not discover their true potential.
